Favorite Attractions

We all have our favorite things to do at the Happiest Place on Earth. Some of us enjoy the parades and shows, while others seem to go for Space Mountain and Indiana Jones Adventure. Some of us completely ignore the Autopia while others of us ride it every time we go there. There is no real rhyme or reason to why people choose on attraction over the others as favorites. Maybe it was where you had a magical experience from a cast member that turned your trip from drudge to delight. Maybe it was a ride where you held her hand for the first time, or maybe even the first kiss. We all have our own reasons for liking the attractions we do and every reason is a good one. For me, I have never had a favorite anything, but i do have tops, top 5 animated movies, top bands that i usually listen to, and my top attractions at Disneyland. Here they are, and here's why:

The Haunted Mansion

I have always loved the stage, even when i was young and watching The Phantom of the Opera, I am mesmerized, but not by the story or the singing though i love them both, but by the technique, the stage changes and how a man can appear on stage one minute and the next appear above you the next singing away. From the moment you step through the doors the technical brilliance of the attraction hits you. From the stretching room, to the floating candelabra, the ghosts materializing at the party and the singing busts of fallen mortals. No matter how old you are, or how many times you have ridden the attraction, I would bet that there are still things in the mansion that you don't know how they do it.

Billy Hill and the Hillbillies

Billy Hill. You get to meet Billy, hid brother Billy, and his brother Billy, and their leader, their brother William. How can i describe these 4 musical and comedic genius brothers. I can't, but i can tell you that more is said on stage by the looks they give each other and the audience than what comes from their mouths. I can say this about these guys and their show, it has never failed me. I have had a headache, mad at someone, had naysayers by my side, and i have never once come away unhappy. oddly enough i did have tears in my eyes.

Splash Mountain

This one is simple. It is one of my top movies from Disney, yes, even with all the controversy surrounding the film. Not to mention that log flumes are some of my favorite rides (hey look at that i do have a favorite something). The gentle rocking of the log on the water as you float through the story, the songs that echo through the ears that we all know but most don't know where they come from. One last thing, Two words: Laughing Place.
