The real price of Disney parks merchandise

Say hello to Mickey's Teddy Bear Duffy!

There is one thing that i always hear from people going to Disney Parks, " they are so expensive" whether its food, tickets, or merchandise that mantra is being shouted from rooftops everywhere. but i have come to disagree with that statement. Today we will touch on one subject, the merchandise. The prices that you pay in the park for a t-shirt, a sweater, or even a plush figure may seem steep until you realize two things, there is nowhere else in the world to get this merchandise and they only sell these items for about 6 months.(give or take) Only in disney parks can you buy these items, and while they do sell a lot they do not sell in bulk like a target, a hollister, or even a disney store. No, the Disney store does not sell park merchandise. not even the plush figures are the same. And if you only go there once a year, the items in the store will be completely different than the year before. Of course, we do have to have some exceptions like Mickey ears, and the books. The exclusivity of the items are what makes the prices go up. It really is that simple.

Now i do offer some advice, what i always do is take one thing as a souvenir. I do not limit myself with a price, I limit myself to an item. Some of you may be "that's impractical" but its really not. sometimes i walk away with a 60 dollar sweatshirt and other time I come home with a 12 dollar snow globe. I have even come back with an 10 dollar pin. When I limit myself to an item number i tend to choose things that I really like, want, and need, and I go away thinking the price is well worth it and a momento to the day to always help me remember the magic. So, whats the real price of Disney parks merchandise? priceless
